Ashwood
Farms
Getting started at Ashwood is easy; beginner students need only come with blue jeans, flat bottom shoes/boots, no tread, and clothing appropriate to the weather.

Advanced beginners, those who choose to continue with lessons and learn to ride will need:

1)Jodphurs (these can be gotten on Ebay,or from State Line Tack on the Internet, as well as Dover Saddlery, or Schneiders Saddlery, or the tack store on Sharon Center Circle, straight up Route 94)

2)Paddock shoes (same sources)

3)Black riding gloves (same)

4)Half chaps (I recommend buying these on Ebay,
I can show you how to measure for size, and kids do grow....)

5)Their own ASTM approved helmet

6)begin to assemble their brush and equipment collections.

*at this level, lockers will be made available at a nominal monthly charge for convenience.
**we will have our own "garage sales" also for outgrown equipment and clothing**

Beyond this level, we recommend that students begin to search out their own saddles, riding boots, and show clothes.  This is in preparation to go to horse shows, and represents a commitment by the rider to continue their education, and to join us at the shows, at any level. Private lockers will be offered as available for storage at a nominal monthly charge.
